February 2022 message to students


Information Technology welcomes you to the Spring 2022 semester.  Here are some helpful tech tips in getting your semester started.

Students can reset their own password on their Gmail, SSO and Loyola Microsoft accounts.

Gmail -

If you did not setup your account recovery settings in your Loyola Gmail account when you first signed in, you can go into the settings and enter your phone number.  This will enable Google to send you a code via text to reset your password.  Click the link below for instructions to setup your Gmail account recovery settings

SSO-  The SSO forced you to setup your account recovery settings when you first signed in.  If you forgot your password or need to reset it, select "reset password" located under the sign in button on the login screen.


Microsoft – Your Loyola Microsoft account is the credentials for Loyno Secure Wifi, PaperCut (printing in the library), Medicat and (application portal).  When you reset your Loyola Microsoft account the password will change on all of these systems.  In order to change your own password, you need to set up account recovery settings.  To provide your phone number to Microsoft so that they can text you a code while resetting your password,  click the link below for instructions.

Getting help from I.T.

1.       Use your Loyola email address to send an email to This is the best way to contact us, since it will automatically generate a ticket in our system, helping us to track your request. Detail the problem you are reporting in the body of the  email.  Be sure to give us your phone number so we can call you.  Important:  You must use your Loyola email account when emailing If you do not use your Loyola account, we will not receive your message. 


2.       Call the Help Desk at (504)-865-2255 and leave a message. Be sure to speak clearly and give us your phone number. 


3.       Drop by.  We are located in room 219 of the Monroe Library.  Hours M-F 8:30-4:30.
