FortiVPN Mac Installation
To install FortiVPN on your Loyola Mac computer:
1. Open the downloaded file (FortiClientMiniSetup-Mac-Enterprise-7.2.1.dmg)
2. A window will open that contains the installer package. Double click the FortiClientInstaller.
3. You will be asked if you are sure you want to open the installer. Click "Open".
4. The client will download.. This will take several minutes.
5. Click on "Install".
6. At the Welcome to the FortiClient Installer window, click "Continue".
7. At the Software License Agreement window, click "Continue".
8. Click "Agree".
9. At the install window, click "Install".
10. If asked, type in your admin password and click "Install Software".
11. The system extension will be blocked. Click on "Open System Settings".
12. The FortiTray would like to add vpn configurations. Click "Allow".
13. The Privacy ad Security preferences will open. You will see a statement that "System software from application FortiTray was blocked from loading. Click the "Allow" button.
14. Enter your password and close the preferences window.
15. At the Installation was successful window, click "Close".
16. Reboot your computer.
17. Click on the FortiClient icon at the upper right corner of our screen.
18. Select open FortiConsole.
19. Allow Fortinet access to your documents folder.
20. Check Acknowledge and click on "I Accept".
21. Click on "Configure VPN" at the center of the screen.
22. Enter settings to match below.
vpn = sslvpn
Connection name = Fortinet Loyola
Remote Gateway = https://fortivpn.loyno.edu:443
Check customize port and enter 443
Check enable single sign on (SSO) for VPN Tunnel
Check Use external browser as user-agent for saml user authentication
Click "Save".
23. Click "Saml Login". You will be asked to authenticate using your Microsoft credentials.
24 The below screen indicates that it connected successfully.
