How to use the Loyola Telephone System
Feature availability is limited to administrative instruments. When dialing from off campus, the prefix to campus numbers 2000-3999 is (865), 5400-5999 is (861) and 7000-7999 is (864).
Fax Machine Usage
When faxing on campus to another campus fax machine, it is necessary to dial only the four-digit extension number.
Telephone Number Prefixes
Main campus telephone numbers are 865-2000 through 865-3999 and 864-7000 through 864-7999. Broadway campus telephone numbers are 861-5400 through 861-5999. Prefixes to main campus telephone numbers are 864 and 865. Prefix to Broadway campus numbers is 861.
To Call An Extension On Main Campus Or Broadway Campus
Lift handset, listen for regular dial tone, dial the four-digit extension number.
To Call A Local Off-Campus Number
Lift handset, listen for regular dial tone, dial access code 8, wait for second dial tone, dial the seven-digit number.
To Call A Long-Distance Number
Lift handset, listen for regular dial tone, dial access code 8, wait for second dial tone, dial 1 + the area code + the number.
To Call An International Number
Lift handset, listen for regular dial tone, dial access code 8, wait for second dial tone, dial 011 + country code + city code + local number. All international calls should be dialed direct, as the university must pay a higher rate for operator-assisted calls. Loyola University uses the Shoretel VOIP telephone system in a multi-campus network. Not all phones can make long-distance calls. If you need this class of service, please ask your department head to request it.
