How do I login to my email account?
Loyola members can log into their Loyola-sponsored Gmail account by opening their Web browser and going to gmail.com You will be prompted for your email address and gmail password. Your default password will be the Loyola default, which is the first 2 letters of your first name, plus the last four digits of your Social Security number, plus the letters “lu.” (abXXXXlu)
As the manager of your new individual account, you will be able to change your password using Gmail services.
Important: You should also set a cell phone number for Google to use for password reset purposes. If you are not prompted to set this up at your first login, this can be done by logging in to your email account and then clicking on the gear icon on the right side of the window. Select "settings". Select the "accounts" tab and click on "Google Account Settings". Go to "security checkup" and select "Get Started". Here you can enter your cell phone number and/or an separate email address. Google will use this information to communicate with you in the event you forget your password. Setting a recovery phone number will enable you to reset your password yourself and in a very short time. If you do not setup a recovery phone number, you will need to call our Help Desk at (504)865-2255 and ask to have your password reset. You will need to provide identification.
